Our last day in Vancouver we went to the men's ski jumping qualifying event. We had beautiful weather, not a cloud in the sky and we actually were stripping down to our t-shirts it was so hot. Don thankfully had the sunscreen so we all lathered up to watch the event. Its pretty crazy how far these guys jump, I think I eased dropped on someones conversation saying the jumpers jump around a football field and a half, incredible! After the event was over we lingered around in the sunshine watching the men's super G ski race on the big screen. As we were sitting around eating our lunch one of the ski jumpers was also just hanging around taking pictures and signing autographs. Since we are at the Olympics obviously we wanted a picture too whether we knew the person or not. We waved down the guy, he was very friendly and hopped in a picture with us. Little did we know that he is actually a superstar in Switzerland. Apparently he had won 2 gold medals in Salt Lake and went on to win another 2 golds in the Vancouver Olympics! Who knew?!!
