Keeping the Dream Alive

Jani and I had the Olympic fever and the prescription called for more cowbell. Last Saturday we ventured back up to Vancouver to see if we could scalp some speed skating tickets and have a drink at the Holland house. Turned out the tickets were going for $400.00 and the rain made the line to get a beer at the Holland House unappealing. Irish Pub here we come! We were able to satisfy our fever with a couple Irish beverages and LIVE Canadian Olympic TV coverage. We then hopped the Skytrain into downtown to shop for more red mittens. After finding nothing on our shopping list we stopped at our new favorite restaurant/bar "Century" to say hello and have a drink before we headed home. Turns out NBC had the same idea as they were there having a production "wrap" party themselves. We laid low like a couple of gaffers, eating free appetizers making notes on some of the personality's drinking habits. If Jimmy Roberts ever came over to the house we'd have vodka, soda with lemon ready. Stacey Dales, a coffee, greyhound followed by a beer. The rest, just a shot at sucking up to their bosses. We may not have attend a sporting event but the event we experienced was worth more than a speed skating ticket. We got the fever and we're living the Olympic dream. Look out London and Sochi.
